Cafe Connect is a simple cafe located in the middle of nowhere in the neglected part of Delhi. But it stands out among the crowded restaurant scene in the national food capital as one place which connects all positives with its customers.
Location of Cafe Connect
Vasant Kunj is primarily a residential locality. Now Wikipedia might tout it as an upmarket neighborhood, but that will be in pockets. The roads are bad, sides of the road is dusty. Traffic is chaotic and there is literally nothing around. Which is surprising as why Cafe Connect chose to come up in such a place.
While the approach road via Sri Aurobindo Marg is usually jammed, one can try coming from Mahilapur side. The place is correctly marked on Google maps. And it is easily visible from the main road.
About the cafe
This is a laid back place and designed to relax in a fun environment to have food. You can come in couples mode or even a large group. Seating is comfortable and decor is surprisingly nice and stylish. The dining hall is elongated rectangle with simple glass partitions to provide a degree of privacy but still let the light in, which is again a brilliant move. Parking is free and right in front of the cafe. Overall the look and the feel of this place is definitely up market.
About the food
Now since this place advertises itself as a cafe, the menu has been designed accordingly. Lots and lots of options in quick bites or the snacks style of food. So if you are expecting the usual restaurant menu, you might be in for some trouble. As it is, it is better to scan the menu before deciding to visit this place. Other than that most of the items on the menu are good and we had a fun time sampling all snacks. The pricing is accordingly. Snacks are priced reasonable and main course items are slightly higher priced.
Service does not take much time considering the range of items on the menu, but waiting is fun as you can catchup with chit chat. Also the free wifi will help to pass time, if you are alone. Food is mostly good. We tried a variety of items like Bun Muska, Maggie, Pita Pockets and Noodle soup. All of them delicious and nicely presented. This place is definitely two notches higher than their pricing.
What is a cafe if it does not offer dessert options. After loading yourself with food, dont forget that they have excellent sweet and bake items.
To sum it up this place gets you all the right food connections.
