Location of Movenpick GK 2
GK 2 has a huge market known as the M block market. Movenpick GK 2 is located in this market.
M Block market is almost the central activity hub for GK 2. It has many top restaurants and bars. This place has ample parking, but it is paid. Also note, there is a different entry and exit for this market.
About the brand Movenpick
Movenpick began making ice cream for their customers who were visiting their restaurants chain. Its place of origin is Zurich. While the original owners were never interested in branding the ice cream. But it caught the interest of the food giant Nestle. Post 2003, Movenpick is now a world renowned brand. It is sold in more than 30 countries worldwide.
At the onset let us agree upon the fact that it costs money to prepare a premium ice cream. A single scoop of ice cream costs Rs 200 plus taxes. It is understandable to compare the prices with the local brands. The menu consists of regular ice creams, sorbets, fruity and creamy and limited editions. While sorbets are pure and authentic fruit flavour, fruity and creamy is little less on calories and contains swiss cream. Each flavour on the menu is marked if it is non vegetarian or otherwise. There are very few veg options.
How to order
There are a few variations on the menu. First interesting option is the Belgium Waffle with single or double scoop. The waffle is freshly prepared. It is loaded with chocolate sauce and flakes. The same option has a pan cake variation. Light golden pancakes. Next comes the dessert combo. Either walnut brownie or chocolate fondant. Finally we have the macaroon selection. For those looking to try out multiple options there is tasting basket and tasting plate. In the end you can also try the shakes, sparkling sorbets and soda floats. There is also a kids menu and the great coffee options. They also have take away packs. Phew. That is actually too much for a simple ice cream shop.
We stuck to the basic Belgium Waffle with single scoop of strawberry. The waffle takes time for preparation. Each menu item is prepared with care. If there is no waiting time, better stick to the basic scoop in cup or cone. The inside is done pretty nice. So you can relax and catch up while your order is prepared.
About the food
Well, premium ingredients selected with care shows its effect. Plus the recipe itself is the star. So end result is a really well made ice cream. There is a lot of richness and creaminess. Taste is awesome. Between and single scoop and the other menu items, try out their other options. We enjoyed that Belgium waffle which we ordered.
