Q Bristo in Janakpuri

Tucked away in the by lanes of Janakpuri, there is a quaint cafe called Q Bristo. Zomato has featured this place as a hidden gem. I got curious and decided to check it out on a lazy sunday afternoon.

The best way to reach this place is to head over towards Dilli Haat of Janakpuri and take the inside road. That way you miss the intricate and narrow lanes of Janakpuri. I recommend use of Google Maps or one can get lost easily in this maze.

Q Bristo is a cafe and patisserie. A patisserie is a small place mostly found in Europe where you can get something like a quick bite. Q Bristo is a nice Indian interpretation of the European Version. One would ofcourse miss the outside seating which is not available here and not recommended too due to the vehicular monstrosity in Delhi.

Once inside you are greeted by an over sized counter which looks and seems out of place because it apparently serves no purpose and occupies lots of space which is already at a premium in this part of Delhi. Seating space per say is nice and well laid out. The inside space is roomy, bright and inviting. One gets comfortable straightway. The decor is minimal, but will appeal to all ages. Seating is a bit limited, but I did not find any issues even on a sunday afternoon.

There is no menu card and the order has to be placed at the counter. You have Pizza, Pasta, Rolls, Burgers, Noodles, Pastries and Shakes. Chinese items are also listed on the menu. I had already made up my mind to order a strange combo of chilly chicken, pasta and pizza.

Food took its time to arrive, but I was in for a surprise. Taste is good and portions are generous. Ingredients are chosen carefully and hence there was a certain degree of freshness and taste to the whole thing. Chefs in Delhi usually have butter chicken on their minds while cooking chilly chicken. But this one actually tasted like one. It disappeared quickly from the plates.

Next was the Pasta. Now generally I avoid the pasta simply because I dont like it. But that makes me a minority in my family. I was surprised when I went for a second helping. Good fresh ingredients. Spot on taste.

The best was reserved for the last. A beautiful thin crust pizza. Believe me. They are as rare as they come.

This place is in the midst of some serious competition. I would wish the father son owner duo all the very best for greater success and happy and satisfied customers.
